Excel #DIV/0! error

What it means:

“#DIV/0!” is one of the more clearly named Excel errors, as a formula has tried to divide something by zero, and Excel can’t handle infinity so alerts you to the problem.

Typical causes:

In almost all cases the models are designed to catch these errors, and would show a 0, blank cell or an “NA” rather than an error. If this error has suddenly appeared, then it may be because you deleted some assumptions, or delayed something by changing its start date, but an assumption later on that uses that value wasn’t also delayed. The models should normally cope with all those situations, so we would also be interested to learn why it suddenly isn’t.

How to fix it:

If you can’t find the cause, then this is a type of unexpected error where we can help you fix it, and we can also look at ways to prevent it happening for future customers.
